As a main architectural building envelope, roof have an important impact on the implications on the building energy consumption and the thermal environment of the top-floor room. Green roof has the effectiveness of Alleviating the urban heat island effect, reducing building energy consumption, increasing the green area of the city, improving the urban ecological environment and the quality of urban air,etc.Currently it is recognized as an effective way to solve the various issues of the modern city.This study on the development of green roof thermal insulation and energy performance of the insulation module was done in the Guangzhou region typical summer weather conditions by using the method of outdoor guarded hot box. The purpose is to obtain the tectonic model green roof insulation the insulation characteristic parameters of the module and evaluation, To provide experimental evidence for its application and promotion.The experiment test sites structural laboratory’s exposure field of Department of Civil and Traffic Engineering. GDUT. The test time is from June15to September5.2012. By monitoring and collecting the date of continuous sunny day segment, we want to find out the performance Green roof insulation module insulation and energy and the impact of meteorological parameters through comparative analysis, also, made a theoretical analysis on the thermal process of green roof insulation module.The results show that green roof insulation modules having a good thermal insulation effect:the underside of the module’s average temperature can be reduced by5.4℃than the outdoor air temperature, the temperature amplitude is1.8℃, and peak-to-valley difference is3.3℃; the inner box air temperature can be reduced by5.6℃than the average outdoor air temperature, the temperature amplitude is1.8℃, and the peak-to-valley difference is3.3℃; The integrated attenuation multiples3.9;When the air temperature is set to26℃, the inner box air conditioning unit power consumption0.041kWh/(m2.h). when it’s set to20℃. the value is0.078kWh/(m2.h). These results is better than the date of lightweight planting soil module, build drainage board module and extruded plate module, which was tested under the same climate conditions.Green roof insulation module’s thermal insulation and energy consumption characteristics is mainly affected by the impact of outdoor air temperature. The bottom surface temperature, air temperature of inner box and total power consumption of the inner box air conditioning and outdoor meteorological parameters have the same sequence, followed by Outdoor air temperature,outdoor air relative humidity, solar radiation, wind speed. Green module and comparison module insulation, energy consumption performance difference was mainly due to transpiration by the green module vegetation layer, photosynthesis and soil layer complex heat and moisture migration process. Conclude that the equivalent thermal resistance and thermal inertia index of green modules is2.11m2.K/W and6.97based on the thermal equilibrium analysis and calculation results.
