Deep-sea resources exploration has been developing rapidly in recent years, the exploration technology continuous development and improvement in the battle for global resources. With the development of computer technology, sensor technology, various kinds of research and development technologies are applied to the resource exploration equipment, developed the practical and precision exploration equipment will become the key.Abyssal deposit temperature gradient is an important component of the geothermal detection, because geothermal detection includes temperature gradient and heat flow detection, and heat flow probe must rely on the temperature data. Gas hydrate stability zone is influenced by the sea temperature and sediment geothermal gradient, pressure, sediment elements, and fluid salinity. Geothermal gradient value is an important parameter to determine the thickness of hydrate stability zone. Along with the development of natural gas hydrate exploration in our country, starting large scale and high density temperature gradient measurement of abyssal deposit in situ can provide submarine geothermal natural gas hydrate exploration and development with more information. Guangzhou Marine geological survey bureau (hereinafter referred to as guanghai) has the first independently design and build ship-has the domestic first-class, international advanced level of natural gas hydrate research vessel---’Marine6’, is the world’s currently first comprehensive geological geophysical survey ship which configuration is relatively perfect. Guanghai bureau have finished a large number of scientific researches in the south China sea and the Pacific Ocean in recent years, have made many achievements. At the same time, the exploration of natural gas hydrate (NGH) also need to develop more excellent and convenient detection tools to detect. It’s shape likes needle so that can stick into sediment, and so it was called as’Needle Fish’probe. This design aims to providing a detective probe for measuring temperature gradient of abyssal deposit which can be used as a tool for ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle) robot by Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey’s first deep-sea exploration vessel’Marine6’.The mechanical structure design must meet the requirements of measurement accuracy and the function, at the same time to adapt to all kinds of bad environment, such as high pressure and high corrosion resistance.Hardware system is composed by ADuc845controlled module, temperature detection, position detection, data storage module, power module, data communication, clock, etc. By testing and comparing a variety of thermal sensors, choose five high-precision sensors that difference between those sensors is very small, to constitute a multi-channel and gradient installation temperature detection module.PC software uses Visual Basic language, and applys multithreaded programming technology, to realize the data reading, processing, stripping out and correcting. Lower computer software implementations is based on keil51programming environment, using modular programming ideas, which is convenient to program and debug. Temperature data stored in the form of excel documents, can connect the Matlab to process data, and use a variety of data processing method and piecewise linearize the data, in order to improve the temperature measuring accuracy.Taking a large number of experiments in the Guanghai bureau and China’s XiSha islands waters, take advantage of high precision constant temperature trough, CTD thermohaline orbiter, MTL heat flux probe to do calibration and adjusting of this design,.to ensure the data accuracy of0.01℃, resolution less than0.005℃This probe has been used successfully in ROV system for temperature gradient measurement.
