With the wind power technology has overcome the bottleneck problem, windpower technology is the one one release, wind power is larger and larger, stand-alonewind turbine capacity is more and more big, so the wind farm installed capacity canalso have more than ever. Wind power wind turbine composed of large capacity, oncefault occurs, it will cause great impact on the power grid. In February24,2011, GansuGuazhou Qiaoxi first wind farm35kV cable head single-phase breakdown laterdeveloped into a three-phase fault, causing10wind electric field including the firstwind farm in the west, a lot of wind turbine wind farm off network in external voltagedrop, then the6wind electric field in almost the whole wind turbine off the net, onewind electric field of24typhoon turbine because of frequency limit causes theprotection action.In the energy shortage of international situation, China is a large energyconsumption, renewable clean energy development seriously. The increasing maturityof wind technology, wind power capacity, its impact on power system relay protectionhas also changed, from the load properties of the original into a power nature, there isa fault in the distribution line wind farm integrated circuit or the integration of windpower, wind farms to provide short-circuit current can not be ignore, even influencethe correct action of protection. Therefore, the grid wind electric field, the calculationof short-circuit current and method of setting the related line protection is ourconcern.Wind power grid capacity increase to make its influence to power grid is moreand more big, the wind farm to power grid, the influence of nature was transformedfrom the original nature of the load power supply. In the calculation of short-circuitcurrent, as well as the collector circuit protection setting calculation, no longer as aload or even ignored. Mass based on the direct drive wind turbine grid wind farmswill be more and more, in a wind farm with T access to distribution network, whenthe collector circuit failure occurs, the short circuit current will be to provide a certain amount of wind farms.Reference to a wind farm operation parameters in this paper to set up asimulated wind farm operation characteristics of a direct drive wind turbine model,and the single machine infinite system with relay protection device in the simulationgrid; Wind farms connected to the power system is analyzed after the fault point ofshort circuit current of change; Simulation on PSCAD/EMTDC software environment,the wind collector circuit failure occurs, the protection movement situation; Acollector circuit containing wind farm short-circuit current calculation method;Analyses the different capacity of wind farm connected to the electricity grid andfixed capacity of wind farm connected to different grid location when short-circuitcurrent situation, and the wind set wire on the action of protection device are analyzed;Finally, discusses the relay protection device and the connection between the area ofpower system stability control system, puts forward a kind of relay protection and theidea of the regional stability control system integration can make regional stabilitycontrol system in wind collector circuit relay protection configuration plays a certainrole.
