Studies on slope stability are always the core problems of the geotechnical engineering field. This paper mainly analysed the homogeneous soil slopes, using the shear strength discount method to simulate the whole process of slope from stable state to unstable failure. Moreover, this paper also analysed the evolution course and development rule of the slope deformation so as to inductive the relationship between slope stability, meanwhile by using the displacement and deformation of slope to evaluate the slope stable state.The soil slopes were classified according to the soil features, soil structure, slope geometric feature and deformation features, and study on the deformation failure model and evolution law of different classification soil slope had been conducted. To establish numerical model of the typical homogeneous soil slopes based on FLAC3D inner couplers M-C constitutive model. Strength reduction method was used to analysis the whole process of the slope deformation. By calculating the workable situations of the different slope height and slope ratio, the relationship between the displacement and safety factor in different workable situations was obtained. By comparing the displacement saltation criterion of the shear strength discount method and the un-convergence criterion of numerical, a better unity had been discovered between the two criterions. Research on geometric parameters which have effects on the stability of homogeneous soil slopes showed that the stability was decreasing with the slope height and slope ratio’s increasing.This paper analysed the deformation’s evolution law of the homogeneous soil slope, and found out that the displacement variation process of key point can be divided into3phases:homogeneous deformation, accelerate deformation, severe deformation. Homogeneous soil slope was studied on the spatial distribution of the surface displacement law, obtained the slope characteristics (before and after the stage of damage) including the form, the mutation point location and the displacement of the holistic. The stability of the slope can be evaluated by the key points from the displacement deformation condition and comprehensive analysis of spatial displacement deformation of the slope’s stage of deformation.For numerical calculation of large displacement information, automatic search lstOpt software was adopted to improve the fitting formula, obtained the displacement information and safety coefficient of relationship of general function formula, and proposes a set of evaluation method of slope stability based on displacement information.
