| The modular steel structure is becoming a new trend of modular structures. Mainly applied in industrial structures, the modular steel structure has advantages of short construction cycle, low cost as well as high efficiency.Based on the practical projects, the author establishes two numerical models and studies their seismic performances. The main aspects of the work in this paper are as followed:(1) The concept of modular, modular design method and its application in various fields are introduced. The BIM applications of modular steel structures and the modular construction method are presented.(2) An elastic seismic analysis for two modular steel frames are carried out, which consists of modal analysis, response spectrum analysis and flexible process analysis. The seismic response characteristics of structures under frequently occurred earthquake therefore are obtained.(3) Based on the Pushover method, a static elasto-plastic analysis for two structures under seldomly occurred earthquake is also conducted. And the deformation characteristics and failure mechanism of two models are proposed in this paper. Moreover, a comparison between the rigid connection and hinge connection are analyzed in order to appraise their seismic performance.The calculation and analysis prove that the modular steel structure has a good ductility. Moreover, the engineering suggestions and problems that deserve further study are summarized at the end of the paper. |
