In modern time admixture has become the indispensable component of concrete, some scholareven regard it as the fifth concrete elements. For the advantage of low dosage, high waterreducing rate, and well crash resist ability and good compatibility, polycarboxylatesuperplasticizer (PCE) has been popular used in concrete industry of China. When theconcrete PCE are combined in the concrete, more fly ash and slag could be added into theconcrete which is usually used as mineral admixtures to improve the concrete workability andreduce the hydration heat.In this paper, the PCE concrete and pure cement concrete fluidity was test, to compare theconcrete workability affected by PCE and mineral admixture. The compressive strength ofpure cement concrete and naphthalene type concrete was also tested to study the mechanicalproperty of PCE and mineral admixture concrete. The Mercury porosimetry was used to testthe pore structure of the four kinds of concrete, aimed to analyze the pore-size distributionand pore-fractal dimension of the PCE and mineral admixture concrete. At the same time, theexternal performance of the four types of concrete was analyzed by the pore-fractal dimensiondata got above.Data from the experiment show the mineral admixture had a plain effect to the concretefluidity while PCE could reinforce it observably. PCE had no negative effect on the concretestrength but could improve the concrete durability. Though the reinforcement rate of mineraladmixture concrete was low than the pure cement concrete in the first56day, the mineraladmixture could reduce the Cl-permeability but reduce the concrete’s ability resistant tocarbonization. The results also indicate the PCE had no effect on the pore structure andpore-fractal dimension of concrete. The mineral admixture mineral admixture had observablyinfection to pore shaft dimension but slender effect on pore space dimension. Concretedurability was mainly effected by the pore between100to1000nm while with the increase ofpore shaft dimension the concrete Cl-permeability decrease.
