The background and development status of the domestic and foreign Liquid-gas JetPump is summarized in this paper, and the Liquid-gas Jet Pump is being used to replace theauxiliary ejector and condenser in the steam jet refrigeration system, then the basic workingprinciple and feasibale application of the Liquid-gas Jet Pump is being analysised carefully.Liquid-gas Jet Pump has a lot of assets of a simple structure, easy installation,energy-saving, high reliability and low failure rate. On the basis of the analysis andcalculation for the overall structural design of the Liquid-gas Jet Pump, we used VB andAccess Datebase to design a program for the structural calculation of the Liquid-gas JetPump.The traditional laboratory-based research costs lots of manpower, material and financialresources, and also the long research period. In contrast, the numerical simulation as a reliableway needs less time and money, and also it has been widely used in various industries now.Two-dimensional simulation for two-phase flow in the Liquid-gas Jet Pump has been usedvery commonly, while three-dimensional numerical simulation is still being used rarely, inthis paper three-dimensional numerical simulation is being used for simulating the process oftwo-fluid flow mixing in the Liquid-gas Jet Pump by the aerodynamic simulation software ofFLUENT.First three-dimensional physical model of the Liquid-gas Jet Pump is being drawn bythe software of Pro/E and then being imported to the pre-processing software of GAMBITfor the meshing and setting of boundary conditions. The Eulerian two-fluid model is beingused to simulate the mixing process in the Liquid-gas Jet Pump. Through the analysis ofnumerical results, we found that the Liquid-gas Jet Pump which we design could meet therequirements of the condenser.The mixing process of the internal two-phase fluid flow in the Liquid-gas Jet Pump isbeing analysed by the software of FLUENT finally. By chancing the dimensions (area ratio,nozzle-to-throat clearane and aspect ratio), the performance of the Liquid-gas Jet Pump isbeing compared, then the optimizational range of the structural dimensions are being acquired,and this will be a new way for the designing of the Liquid-gas Jet Pump.
