Agriculture is the foundation of the rapid development of national economy. Improving the agriculture production is the important national policy which can make China’s science and technology enhance, depending on the existing technology. The fundamental method for agriculture lies in agricultural mechanization. In recent years, in order to adapt to the conservation tillage mode, plowing replaces rototilling plough in the plain region. While since the 1980s, micro-cultivator is adapted in the mountain. Therefore, it is very important to research the process of cutting soil by the dry-land rotary blades. It can improve the life of rotary blade, reduce the power consumption of the agricultural tools, reduce the pollution of the environment, improve soil structure, increase crop yield, improve the economic benefits of farmers and ensure the agricultural sustainable development.In recent years, with the rapid development of computer technology and the application of finite element method software in the engineering problems, the research of soil cutting also has a lot of progress. This paper mainly studies the process of soil cutting by the finite element method, and makes the research of number simulation by using the finite element method software, which is ANSYS/LS-DYNA.(1) Rotary blade’s cutting process is the dynamics problems of nonlinear structure through the study of the top layer of soil and rotary blades’cutting process. It can be researched by the elesto-plastic soil model.(2) Rotary blade’motion equation is established by analyzing its kinematic. It can be drawed that the power consumption of rotary blade is the sum power total that is all the resistance on the blade, by analyzing the power consumption situation when the rotary blade is working.(3) It can be concluded some results by the 3d simulation on the process of rotary blade in the ANSYS/LS-DYNA software. First, when the rotary blade is working, the maximum stress in soil mainly concentrated in the blade’s edge of rotary blade. Second, rotary blade’s maximum stress concentrated in its fixed place.Third, when rotary blade cuts into the soil, its kinetic energy has a sharp slowdown and slowly goes to stability. With the deep plowing of rotary blade, its kinetic energy changes significantly.It is very useful to provide the theory basis for designing the rotary blade with equal structure strength and equal life.
