| Enclosure is the main measure to control the degradation of alpine meadows in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. This study investigated the suitable enclosure times and appropriate grazing rates for the northeastern edge region of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and obtained the following results:1. The index of the alpine meadow firstly decreased, and then increased, and finally decreased as enclosure years increased, peaking at the fourth year.2. The index of the edible parts and forage quality functional grouping firstly increased, and then decreased as enclosure years increased, peaking at the fourth year.3. At1.00cattle unit/hm2grazing rate, the community evenness index and diversity index peaked, however, the richness index had no significant change.4. In the vigorous growth period, the total nitrogen content at1.00cattle unit/hm2grazing rate was higher than other rates.5. The total phosphorus content of Polygonum viviparum at the secondary grazing rate peaked in the early and last period, however the total phosphorus content of Kobresia capillifolia at secondary grazing rate peaked in the early and middle period. |
