Current, Global warming has been caused widespread concern in the world, climate warming mainly due to that human activities affect the carbon balance of the atmosphere, and cause atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases rise especially CO2concentration. There are mainly two ways of reducing atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases:one is to reduce the emission source, the second is to increase sinks.Wood materials are kind of materials which combined with wood fiber as the main raw materials and other non-wood materials by a certain way. Wood materials not only retains the wood’s unique ecological characteristics, renewable, biodegradable, beautiful and adjustment of the indoor environment and other natural attributes, as well as high strength weight ratio and small energy consumption of processing, but also has the effect of carbon sequestration and carbon sinks, have a positive effect in reducing CO2emissions and mitigating climate warming.Through the literature review and laboratory experiments, the related meaning for carbon storage of wood materials and measuring parameters of the carbon storage changes in wood materials processing, such as components of wood materials, basic density, carbon content rate, moisture content and material consumption and energy consumption of producing unit wood materials, etc.; in this paper, the results of energy consumption and raw material consumption in the production process of wood materials in laboratory and wood materials processing enterprises were detected with1m3wood materials for reference amount, and than the author analyzed the changes of carbon storage in the production process of wood materials and calculated the net carbon storage of wood materials; and the factors affecting the carbon reserves of the wood materials combined with the results of laboratory tests and wood processing enterprises inspection, put forward an effective way of improving carbon storage of wood materials and reducing carbon emissions in processing process of wood materials.The results show that:The carbon storage is greater than the release of carbon in the whole production process of wood materials, that show wood materials is sustainable in the environment, wood materials is carbon storage materials and has a significant carbon sink effect; The different density and carbon content rate of the finished material caused by the difference of wood materials group and raw materials ratio, and it will affect the amount of carbon storage of wood materials; process parameters such as temperature and time in production process will directly affect the energy consumption, thus affecting the carbon storage of wood materials; The carbon emissions caused by loss of raw materials and energy consumption will smaller with the annual production of wood materials greater; Energy efficient use will effectively reduce the overall energy of carbon emissions in the processing of wood materials, reducing the amount of the loss of raw materials can effectively increase the carbon storage of the finished wood materials, therefore, reducing energy consumption and improving the utilization of raw materials will significantly enhance the carbon sink effect of the wood materials.
