Forty-nine microsatellite loci were used to screen microsatellite markers associated with economic traits of Chinese Crab(Eriocheir sinensis) from Yangtze River cultured stock in Changzhou. A GLM (General Linear Model) procedure was used to examine the relationship between microsatellite DNA markers and economic traits (body weight, body width and body height). Correlation analysis indicated that ESIN33, ESC57, ESC29and ESC65loci were significantly correlated to body weight, body width and body height. Multi-comparison of different genotypes was performed in these4microsatellite loci. The result showed that all traits (body weights, body widths and body heights) with genotype AE, BB and BE in ESIN33were significantly higher than those of genotype EE,EF and FF, of which genotype AC was the highest. Individuals with genotype DD and DE of ESC29had significant difference in body weight, body width and body height. The values of body width and body height of individuals with genotype DD were the highest. The values of body weight of only two individuals with genotype CD was the highest. The values of body weights, body widths and body heights of individuals with genotype BB in ESC65were the highest, which had significant difference than those with DD or BD type. The values of body weights, body widths and body heights of individuals with genotype BB in ESC57were higher than those of AB with no significant difference.The genomic DNA of Chinese Crab (E. sinensis) in Yangtze River wild population from Wuxi were used to verify the results above.Correlation analysis indicated that ESIN33, ESC29and ESC65loci were significantly correlated to body weight, ESIN33and ESC29loci were significantly correlated to body width, ESC57had no significant correlation to body weight, body width and body height.The results of multi-comparison of different genotypes in ESIN33, ESC29and ESC65showed that the values of body weights, body widths and body heights with genotype EF in ESIN33were significantly higher than those of genotype CE and CC, the values of body weights with genotype AB in ESC29were higher than those of genotype BB, the values of body weights, body widths and body heights with genotype AE in ESC65 were significantly higher than those of genotype DE, CD, BC, EE and AD, while the values of body weights and body heights were significantly higher than those of genotype BB, the values of all traits with genotype DE were the lowest which had significant difference with genotype AE and BE. Individuals with genotype AB and BB of ESC57had no significant difference in body weight, body width and body height.The results indicated that ESIN33, ESC29, and ESC65had a significant correlation with body weight while ESIN33and ESC29had a significant correlation with body width in two populations. ESC33, ESC29and ESC65loci were only found having significant correlation with body width in cultured population. The results of multi-comparison showed that the genotypes related to the economic traits were not identical in two populations.The Correlation between Micro-satellite markers and economic traits of Chinese crabs were studied for the first time in this paper, which further application would be used for gene clone and molecular marker-assisted breeding in Chinese crabs.
