This paper investigates the natural termite-resistance of sympodial bamboo in differentspecices, ages and positions, by using membrane filter method to identify9kinds ofinsecticides for in vitro selection, and discussing the anti-termite effects of differentinsecticides and treatment processes on sympodial bamboo. Insecticides are compared by theimpacts on physical mechanics of bamboo scrimbers, the anti-pest effects, and loss-resistance.Initially the suitable bamboos, insecticides and its addition quantity on bamboo scrimber areselected, in order to provide technical support for the bamboo and bamboo scrimber protection.The experiment materials are from6species—Bambusa emeiensis, Bambusa emeiensis,Dendrocalamus giganteus, Dendrocalamus brandisii, Bambusa pervariabilis×Dendrocalamopsis daii, and Bambusa rigida. The nine kinds of insecticides are Chlorpyrifos,Beta cypermethrin, Nitenpyram, Fipronil, Imidacloprid, Imidacloprid, Carbosulfan,Bifenthrin,and Chlorantraniliprole. The main reseach findings are summarized as follows:Quick choise of anti-termite insecticides:1) all of9kinds of insecticides can strike downtermite,7of which can kill termites except for imidacloprid and chlorantraniliprole. Termite’sknockdown rate and mortality rate is increased with the increasing concentration of theinsecticide and time.2) The concentrations of the insecticides treatment of termite sustaincontact with the filter membrane for24hours LC50of the order: fipronil=bifenthrin <imidacloprid <carbosulfan <beta cypermethrin <nitenpyram <chlorpyrifos. Imidacloprid andchlorantraniliprole cannot kill termite in24hours.3) Most kinds of insecticides have contacttoxicity, and very few of them has the affection of avoidness.The technical research on natural resistant against termite of sympodial bamboo speciesand treated bamboo:1) All5kinds of the sympodial bamboo species do not has naturalresistant against termite, and the ranking of weight loss rate from the lowest to the highest is:Dendrocalamus farinosus, Dendrocalamus brandisii, Dendrocalamus giganteus Bambusa rigida,and Bambusa pervariabilis×Dendrocalamopsis daii. The outer and inner layers cancontribute to resistance against termites.2) Ages has not significant impact on resistanceagainst termites of Dendrocalamus farinosus, weight loss rate of Dendrocalamus farinosus isdecreasing with the increasing of ages, and parts has unobvious influence on resistance againsttermites. Ages have unobvious influence on resistance against termites of Dendrocalamusfarinosus, and parts have no significant impact on resistance against termites of Dendrocalamusgiganteus Munro.3) All the sympodial bamboo species model brushed or marinated by9kindsof insecticides are not decayed by termites, and termite’s lethal time is decreased with theincrease of insecticide concentration. The affection of termite prevention and control from themarinated model is better than the brushed one.4) The lethal time of termite of bifenthrin is theshortest, and the affection is better than chlorpyrifos. Imidacloprid and chlorantraniliprole intheir respectively concentration there is no phenomenon that termite contact test samplebecome dead in short time, so that imidacloprid and chlorantraniliprole are not fit to beinsecticide separately. Nitenpyram does not appear the advantage of highly efficiency intermite prevention and control, so the protection affection of imidacloprid is little better thannitenpyram. The protection of beta cypermethrin, fipronil and carbosulfan trends to be closedon the condition of the third concentration.5) The species of bamboo has no obvious influenceon resistance against termites effect of different bamboo done by the same insecticide when thesame kind of insecticide deals with different bamboo Take bifenthrin as an example. Bamboohas the outer and inner layer or not has apparent influence on the resistance against termiteseffect of model marinated by insecticide.The research on natural resistant against termite of bamboo scrimber and treated bambooscrimber:1) Bamboo scrimber has great physical and mechanical properties, because outersurface some samples are corroded and the rank of corrosion gets grade2after the test ofresistant against termite2) Bamboo scrimber which is treated by3kinds of insecticides ofBifenthrin, Fipronil and Imidacloprid can resist termite’s corrosion. The protection becomesbetter with the increasing addition of3insecticide. The effect of fipronil is the best, the second is bifenthrin, and the last is imidacloprid compared to the other two on the same addition ofthese3insecticides.3) The insecticide kind and concentration do not have apparent influenceon its mechanical properties, and only the insecticide kind has obvious influence on TS24hofbamboo scrimber.4) All these3kinds of insecticide have some the resistance leachability,andthese watered models are not corroded by termite. The resistance leachability of insecticides inhigher addition is better than the one in lower.The technology to protect bamboo or wood building from termite:1) The termiteprevention and control is a systematic project, which means we should start from chosing aright material and siting an appropriate location by inspecting ant hazard, and eliminatinghidden risks.2) When building foundation, we should use pesticidal earth and physicalprotection screens, which can drive away or poison termites, in order to stop termite’sencroachment to the house foundation.3) When it comes to wall and roof, we should choosethe wood or bamboo materials which have been done by preservative, and brush or sprayinsecticide onto these component. When decarating the interior, we should take precautionsagainst termite on decorating materials.4) Outside the house, we should establish surveillancesites around the building, and make regular inspection on the activity of surrounding termites.5) Inside the house, we can install small equipment hanging on the wall to induce and killtermite. In case of the invading termites being in a large number, we need to take measures tohave the entire house termiteproofed completely.
