The Theoretical And Practical Exploration On The Planning Ofgolf Course Landscape

With the development of golf course in our majority cities, the designers of golf course n eed to considering how to highlight characters of golf course to make distinctive impressions on guests. A golf course should possess landscape function besides fundamental movement pr operties. Because an excellent golf course is made up of lawn, lakes, sand, trees which showe d a great landscaping in front of people after the careful design by the golf course designer.Th e landscape design of the golf course is one of the key link in Planning and designing of the o verall golf course. The landscape designer should comprehend the overall design idea and coo rperate with the golf course designers to make flexible use of the terrain, sand, water, building s, plants, stone and garden according to the principle of golf course design in the absence of b reaking the whole golf couse style.In this paper,based on the related materials of domestic and overseas golf course and landscape,and using consult and collect references, survy and inducation to understand the concept of golf course and elements of golf course landscape.Combined the specific practice of golf course landscape design to discuss the related theroy, technique and poblems of China’s golf course landscape design.The conclusions were as follows:1. Based on the knowing natural conditions, history and humanities style, we should ensure the stlye of overall golf course landscape firstly, then under the premise of compliance with the motor function of the golf course taken the environment as the background and retained the landscape characteristics, meanwhile, combined the artificial landscape and cultural landscape to creat a regional golf course landscape significantly which the human environment and the natural environment had a high degree of unity.2. Three landscape construction ideas were gained.Including respected environment, combined native landscap elements to keep regional landscape characteristics.and kept capabilities and landscape sustainability.Six landscape design principles were functions of priority, environmental harmony, economical, space aesthetics, landscape unity, and the ecological stability. 3. The landscape design methods of the court entrance, tee, fairway, landing area, putting green, clubhouse, driving range, lawn management office and the rest kiosks and tall grass areas and boundary zone were proposed. Analysed the technical problems in the process of golf course construction, such as clearance, earthwork, shape, drainage and sprinkler.4. Finally, based on the writer’s personal working experience and the problems existing i n the construction process, we pointed out five related problems in China’s golf course design and practice such as designers foreign to golf course, heavy artificial traces of golf course, ran dom occupation of farmland, inadequate industry standards and sophisticated management.5. Landscape architect to the golf course the golf course should understand the relationship among natural landscape, aritificial landscape and cultural landscape, and master the motive rules and characteristics of the golf course to understand and grasp the golf course landscape design from the players point of view. They also should keep communication with with various types of engineers for together to complete the design and construction work.
