Potato is the third-largest food crop behind rice and Wheat. China’s potato output ranked first in the world, but the average yield is Far low from world’s average level. The main reason is counted by the virus, especially PLRV. As a main virus disease, PLRV have caused great damage on potato every year, including yield-reducing and quality-decreasing.So far, application of insecticide is still the most common and preventive treatment for the PLRV control. However, insecticide application is a costly approach and environmentally unfriendly.It was became dropped under the increasing requires of healthy green food on people. So, to choose and plant a PLRV-resistent potato cultivar is long-term efficiency method to control PLRV.In this study, we use11main potato cultivars;Atlantic、Russet Burbank Desiree、DongNong308、Favorita、HuTou、Kexin NO.1、LongShu NO.3NeiShu NO.7、Shepody、ZhongShu NO.11as research materials, then transmit the PLRV by green peach aphids in greenhouse. We also did some test on changes of disease related enzyme activities after potato inoculated by PLRV. The experiment results shows us:Kexin NO.1. Dongnong308, and the HuTou3potato varieties are have a higher resistance to PLRV-ch,among them HuTou is a PLRV-ch tolerant Variety. NeiShuNO.7、LongShuNO.3and ZhongShu NO.113varieties are medium resistance to PLRV-ch.Among them ZhongShuNO.11is an PLRV-ch accumulation resistance variety. Varieties Atlantic、Desiree are medium Susceptible varieties. And,Shepody、Faverita、Russet Burbank3varieties are PLRV-ch susceptible varieties. We Choose KeXinNO.1、LongShu NO.3、Shepody three Varieties which are different resistent levels to PLRV-ch,and determine their defense enzyme activities. The result show us that With the extension of the time after PLRV-ch infection.The disease related enzyme SOD POD activities and NO contents in infected potato plant are increased differently between varieties. And the time and variation of enzyme activities are also different from variety to variety. In general, the activities of resistent and medium resistent varieties are increased more rapidly and earlier than susceptible variety. As to CAT and MDA, there is no significant variation between those three varieties.We successfully demonstrate that:Potato varieties KexinNO.1, Dongnong308and HuTou are resistance to PLRV-ch and their resistances are very possible to controlled by genes and effected by defense Enzymes. So defense enzyme activities will be a clue physiological indicator of the resistance of potato to PLRV in future research.
