Cottonseed oil is an important by-product of cotton. To improve cottonseed oil was one of the important means to improve the economic returns of cotton growing. Cottonseed oil was determined by general chemical method, which equipment is simple and result is reliable, but the chemical analysis technique is not only cumbersome analysis process, and destruction of germplasm resources. The Near Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy Technique is suitable to screen large quantities of crop quality traits, which with the advantages of nondestructive, rapid and high efficient. The research is to set up near-infrared analysis model of the oil content of cottonseed according to the advantages of near-infrared spectrometer, so that we can assay the oil content of cottonseed in large quantities quickly and improve analysis standard and efficiency. We chose Upland Cotton as test material and use national standard method to measure the oil content of all the samples, and then established the relatively ideal analysis model in FOSS DS2500near-infrared spectrometer. Meanwhile, we analyze the distribution status and impact factors of cottonseed oil with these data. The main results are as follows:1. Using218samples, we established a near-infrared analysis model of cottonseed. The result shows that, using the improved mathematical treatment:Partial Least Squares、Standard Normal Variant and (2,4,4,1), we can get the best result; it has the highest regression squared of the calibration (RSQ=0.9773) and1minus the ratio of unexplained variance to total variance (1-VR=.9646), least standard error of the calibration (SEC=0.6977) and standard error of cross-validation (SECV=0.8714); the coefficient of determination for Near-infrared predictive value to chemical value of the prediction reached0.9766. Thus, the model is accurate and precise, it can be applied in practice.2. Take the E-Kang cotton9as material, we find significant differences in cottonseed oil content which were picked at different dates. It shows that the external environment can strongly affect the Cottonseed oil Contents during the cottonseed maturity period.3. Take the E-Kang cotton9and E-Hybrid cotton10as materials, analysis the oil content differences of cottonseed which were picked from different parts of cotton plants. It shows that, in the horizontal position of one plant, central cottonseed has the highest oil content, followed by the inner circle, the external. In vertical, the cottonseed oil content increased with the height of the fruiting branches, and there is significant difference between them.4. Test the cottonseed oil content of31materials for constant3years. The analysis results showed that the cottonseed oil content gradually increased with the extension of storage time, But increased marginally.5. Take the cottonseed oil content test of53cotton varieties which are planted in the Yangtze River Basin. The results showed that the cottonseed oil content ranges from24.88%to37.06%with mean of28.05%; the majority of them are belonging to26%~30%level; the oil content of1material exceed36%.
