Rice white-backed planthopper belongs to Delphacidae of Homopte-ra, is one of the important migration pests of harming to rice in the world. Since the1980s, the white-backed plant hopper w-as outbreaking in our country, foremost it transmint rice virus disease, su-ch as Southern Rice Black Streaked Disease Virus (SRBSDV), the sever-e yield loss was thr-eatened of safety producting of rice. For example, SRBSDV, which transmiting by white-backed plantho-pper, was outbreaking in2009, infected over hundred thousands hectare of rice, more than billions of economic losses was to farmers.Till now, chemical pesiticides control is one of the most effective te-chnical measures for the white-backed planthopper prevention. So it is v-ery import for determinating sensitivity of the white-backed planthopper to the main pesticides, for improving efficiency of the white-backed plan-thopper prevention and reducing environmental contamination. For providing scientific evidence of preventing white-backed planthopper by pesiticides, the sensitivity of the third instar nymph of white-backed planthopper population in HuNan province to five pesticides was determinated by rice stem impregnation method. The results showed the sensitivity of white-backed planthopper of five districts of Hunan province to five pesiticides is similar, and is lowest to the isoprocarb. So the isoprocarb using should reduce in the field. Acetylcholinesterase gene (AChE) of the white-backed planthopper is the action site of carbamate and organphosphorus pesticides. Hence, excessive using both typies of pesticides for long term is one of most important reasons of its sensitivity reducing to the white-backed planthooper. So it is crucial to clone of ACh E of the white-backed planthopper, for further understanding the mechanism of sensitivity reducing. Till now, ACh E of over twenty important pests of agricultural producting was successful cloned, but no report of ACh E of the white-backed was published. In the study, part of ACh E of the white-backed planthopper was cloned according to conserved region of ACh E of the brown planthopper(Nilaparvata lugens). A223bp fragment was cloned from the white-backed planthopper by RT-PCR. It is high homology to ACh E of the brown planthopper. The results contributed to cloning complete ACh E of the white-backed planthopper, and it is sentific basis for uncovering sensitivity reducing of the white-backed planthopper to pesicides.
