Chemical weeding was the primary ways of controlling weeds. However, because of the long-term use, it was easy to induce resistance or cross resistance. Resistant weeds posed a serious threat to crop production. Currently, China’s pesticide formulations was mainly EC and WP. In the selection of surfactant, we mainly considered physical stability, but ignored the wettability on the leaves of the crop at recommended doses and the control effect. Therefore, the study of the reasonable development of pesticide formulations simultaneously, we should consider the application performance. This can delay the pesticide resistance, improve the pesticide utilization rate, preserve the ecological environment, realize the sustainable development of agriculture. In this paper, carfentrazone-ethyl was as an example, emulsifiable concentrates with different solvents and water dispersible granule were prepared respectively. The effect on the herbicides efficacy and their safety to wheat were studied via pot trial in greenhouse and field trial. And the influence on physical properties of preparation dilutions was primarily discussed.1. The EC products prepared with different solvents and different contents were transparent and same in composition and ratio of emulsifier. All indexes of20%carfentrazone-ethyl WG can meet the requirements.2. The influence to physical properties of dilutions was primarily discussed by measuring the effect of contact angle, surface tension, solution retention on weed leaf. The detailed results were as follows:The contact angle of the preparations’dilution liquids with biodiesel and S-150#as solvent on Chenopodium album changed little, shown as nonwetting. For Amaranthus retroflexus L. and Convolvulus arvensis L., the results indicated:biodiesel can reduce the liquid contact angle; contact angle of20%carfentrazone-ethyl WG was between20%carfentrazone-ethyl EC(biodiesel) and20%carfentrazone-ethyl EC(biodiesel+S-150#).The results of surface tension were similar with that of contact angle. Surface tension of the preparation of dilute liquid with biodiesel as solvent were more decreased than that of S-150#.The results of retention showed that:WG was higher than EC; different solvents compared to, retention of preparation liquids with biodiesel as solvent was highest in emulsion preparation. Biodiesel can increase the solution retention.3. The influence to physical properties of dilutions was primarily discussed by measuring the effect of contact angle, surface tension and retention after adding penetrant, the results were as follows:The contact angle’s variation law is as the same as that of no use of the penetrant, but the contact angle was decreased. After adding0.1%penetrant, there were no obvious differences between them in surface tensions.Retention of results showed:after adding0.1%penetrant, the retention on Chenopodium album increased significantly, that on Amaranthus retroflexus L. and Convolvulus arvensis L. reduced.4. The effective control of them against broadleaf weeds were studied in greenhouse. The results indicated that:in fresh weight reduction of Amaranthus retroflexus L. and Convolvulus arvensis L.,20%carfentrazone-ethyl EC (biodiesel) and20%carfentrazone-ethyl WG had the best effect, the next were carfentrazone-ethyl EC,40%carfentrazone-ethyl WG was the least. Among them, the control of20%carfentrazone-ethyl EC against Amaranthus retroflexus L. and Convolvulus arvensis L. was higher than that of40%carfentrazone-ethyl EC; at the same content, the preparation with biodiesel as the solvent had higher effective control. Against Chenopodium album, the control of20%carfentrazone-ethyl WG was best, others had no significantly differences.5.20%carfentrazone-ethyl EC(biodiesel)was an example. Comparison of10%fluoroglycofen EC and2%pyraflufen-ethyl SC, their safety to the nine wheat varieties were studied via pot trial in greenhouse. It showed that, all varieties occurred herbicide injures, but the wheat variety998was safer than others.6. Compared with10%fluoroglycofen EC,2%pyraflufen-ethyl SC,10%tribenuron-methyl WP,72%2,4-D butylate EC, the effect of carfentrazone-ethyl on the herbicides efficacy and their safety to wheat were studied via field trial in pre-winter and spring. It showed that, the control in pre-winter was betrer than that of in spring.
