American red maple (Acer rubrum L.) is loved by more people because of the changingleaf color with the seasons, crown clean, beautiful tree and ornamental excellent. Americanred maple has mainly two kinds of reproduction including seed sowing and cuttings. Seedsowing reproduction costs cheaper, but prones to mutation, can not guarantee good parentstraits and slow growth, so it’s developments subject to certain constraints. Cuttings can ensurethe parent’s good traits, has rapid growth when it was once survival, but there is a low survivalrate of cuttings, resulting in higher cost cutting. Thereby increasing the survival rate ofAmerican red maple cuttings, reducing the amount of cutting, will promote large-scaleproduction of red maple and has important theoretical and practical significance.In this study, screening the best cutting propagation matrix by using different substratematerials for American red maple cutting.And study the effects of American red maple rootgrowth, rooting cuttings of nutrients and related enzyme activity by the cuttings of differentlengths, types of hormones, hormone levels on best cutting propagation matrix.We hope wecan provide theory of reference for improve the technical and rooting cuttings mechanism ofAmerican red maple. The key results are as follows:(1)The development of American red maple with five kinds of single or complex matrixwas determinate. The results show that river sand+perlite+vermiculite (1:1:2, V/V)treatment has best root situations, and its treatment cuttings callus appeared earliest and alsothe first adventitious roots appeared in the rate of callus. Adventitious root length, number ofadventitious roots, rooting rate, etc. are good performance, especially rooting index wassignificantly higher than other treatments, so the composite matrix will be used in the next testas the cutting matrix.(2)The effects of American red maple cutting by different lengths, types of hormones andlevels of hormones with orthogonal regression design on river sand+perlite+vermiculite(1:1:2,V/V) composite matrix.The results showed that:15cm cuttings root growth parameters,such as the period of callus tissue, adventitious root emergence period, root length, rootnumber, root index etc outstanding, comprehensive evaluation is much better than10cm and20cm cuttings handling, cuttings, and could save materials more than20cm cutting.Rooting powder ABT2is best treatment.The concentration in the root selection,500mg·L-1concentration for the most favorable for callus, and in the rooting stage,1000mg·L-1concentration of better treatment. Therefore, in practice, can take1000mg·L-1concentration, the effect may be best.(3)The changes and trends of the nutritional status of the process of cutting androot-related enzyme in American red maple cutting were studied. The results showed that: agood nutritional status of the cuttings, can promote root development of cuttings.In the entireprocess to take root, PPO and IAAO activity have the trend of first increased and thendecreased, while POD activity is presented first and then decreased, then increased again toreduce,has the two-peak trend.
