A series of indoor experiment were conducted to investigate the effects of musicsound wave on growth, feeding, food conversion, energy budget, digestive enzymeactivities, body composition, muscle amino acids composition, respiratorymetabolism, energy metabolism enzyme activities and nonspecific immunity ofLitopenaeus vannamei. The primary results were listed below.1Effect of music sound wave on growth, energy budget and digestive enzymeactivities of Litopenaeus vannameiAn experiment was carried out to investigate the effects of music on growth, energy budget and digestive enzyme activities of Litopenaeus vannamei in naturalseawater, under temperature of24℃~25℃. There were two treatments, control groupand music group. After a40-day feeding trial, the results were as follows:(1) Thefinal wet weight of shrimps of music group was significantly higher than controlgroup (P<0.05), and there was a24.78%increase in growth rate.(2) The specificgrowth rate and food conversion efficiency of music group shrimps were significantlyhigher than control group (P<0.01).(3) There was no significant difference in energybudget of control and music group shrimps(P>0.05).(4) The pepsin and amylaseactivity of music group was higher than control group (P<0.01), while lipase activitywas lower (P<0.01), and there was no significant difference in tryptase activitybetween the two groups (P>0.05). The results showed that music can promote growthand digestion of Litopenaeus vannamei, thus is a potential and worth trying manualcontrol means to promote growth of factory-farming shrimps.2Effect of music sound wave on body composition, digestive enzyme activitiesand muscle amino acids composition of Litopenaeus vannameiAn experiment was carried out to investigate the effects of music body composition, and muscle amino acids composition of Litopenaeus vannamei innatural seawater, under temperature of24℃~25℃. There were two treatments, control group and music group. After a60-day feeding trial, the results were asfollows:(1) Body composition of music group shrimps was not significant from thatof control group shrimps(P>0.05).(2) Music had significant effect on muscle aminoacids composition of shrimps. The content of aspartic acid, serine, alanine, leucine, lysine and arginine of music group shrimps were higer than that of control groupshrimps (P<0.05).3Effect of music sound wave on respiratory metabolism and energy metabolismenzyme activities of Litopenaeus vannameiAn experiment was carried out to investigate the effects of music on oxygenconsumption rates, ammonia excretion rates and energy metabolism enzyme activitiesof Litopenaeus vannamei in natural seawater, under temperature of24℃~25℃. Theinvestigated enzymes include pyruvate kinase (PK) activities, succinatedehydrogenase (SDH) activities and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activitiesof muscletissue. There were two treatments, control group and music group. After a60-dayfeeding trial, the results were as follows:(1) No significant differences were found inoxygen consumption rates and ammonia excretion rates of shrimps of control andmusic groups(P>0.05).(2) The PK activities of music group was not significantlydifferent from that of control group(P>0.05).(3) The SDH activities of music groupwas significantly higher than that of control group (P<0.05).(4) The LDH activitiesof music group was significantly lower than that of control group (P<0.01). Theresults showed that music can increase the level of aerobic metabolism and decreasethe level of anaerobic metabolism of Litopenaeus vannamei.4Effect of music sound wave on nonspecific immunity of Litopenaeus vannameiAn experiment was carried out to investigate the effects of music on nonspecificimmunity of Litopenaeus vannamei in natural seawater, under temperature of24℃~25℃. There were two treatments, control group and music group. After a 60-day feeding trial, the results were as follows:(1) The activity of plasmaphenoloxidase of music group was significantly higher than control group(P<0.01).No significant difference was found in superoxide dismutase (SOD)、 alkalinephosphatase (AKP)、acidic phosphatas(ACP) and total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC)activities of the plasma between the two groups (P>0.05).(2) SOD activity ofhepatopancreas of music group was significantly higher than that of controlgroup(P<0.01). There was no significant difference in AKP、ACP and T-AOCactivities of hepatopancreas (P>0.05). The results showed that music can enhanceimmunity of Litopenaeus vannamei.
