Soil moisture is an important indicator of the weather forecast, floodcontrol, drought, and the predict to agricultural production and other areas. In the soilmonitoring, the passive microwave remote sensing for soil moisture has become as one ofthe primary detecting means. Although the spatial resolution of passive microwave remotesensing instruments to measure soil water is the relatively low,it is still a very effectivemethod in a large-scale measurement of soil moisture,so people pay more attention andresearch to it recently.AMSR-E inherited the advantages of the past microwave radiometer. The band ofAMSR-E increased significantly, the spatial resolution of the AMSR-E′s data hasimproved greatly compared with the past.AMSR-E can provide multi-frequency anddual-polarized brightness-temperature data in6.9~89GHz frequency range.AMSR-Eprovide the date of global water and energy cycle, including precipitation rate, sea surfacetemperature, sea ice concentration, snow water equivalent, soil moisture, surfacemoisture, the measurement of atmospheric parameters, atmospheric water vapor, cloudwater and other related areas of data. This paper started from the microwave radiation mechanism and describes themicrowave scattering characteristics of microwave and the atmospheric transport model ofmicrowave,by the start of AIEM scattering model,Explores the use of ANN neuralnetwork model combined AIEM scattering method for soil moisture inversionmethod. This provides a useful reference for large-scale soil moisture within the inversion.
