Preparation And Application Of Chicken Egg Yolk Immunoglobulin (IgY) Paste Against Piglets Diarrhea

Enterotoxin of Enterotoxigenic E. Coli (ETEC) could caused of diarrhea in neonatal piglets. The common method of prevention and cure the piglets diarrhea is mainly used of the vaccine、antibiotics and other antimicrobial agents currently. However, the use and misuse of antibiotics and other antimicrobial agents have led to problems with drug residues in animal products and increased bacterial resistance. The most effectiv means to solve the safety problems of antibiotic residues is to develop alternatives to antibiotics. Egg yolk Immunoglobulin (IgY) is a safe alternatives to antibiotics, it’s high specificity for the prevention and treatment of diarrhea piglets has acquired significant effect. Our laboratory has prepared egg yolk antibody powder and tablet pill for the prevention and treatment of diarrhea piglets previously. However, both of the powder and the tablet are have room to improve in how to avoid waste, improve the theraputic effect. Therefore, in the present,the study was based on the piglets growth characteristics and physiological characteristics to developing an safe and effective Nutraceuticals called egg yolk antibody paste theraputioc agent that suitable for piglets taking.It can solve the problems that existing in the application process.In this study, firstly, we used trivalent restructuring enterotoxin (SLS) of Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) and ETEC K99fimbrial antigens to immunize laying hens, and collected eggs after a high level of antibodies is reached in the egg yolk. Secondly,separateing the yolk from the egg which contained special IgY, and used the yolk to producted the egg yolk antibody paste. Finally, evaluate its application effects in Piglets production process.The results showed that:(1) the antibody titer was much greater of the SLS and K99fimbrial that was1:9000andl:7500respectively.(2) Single factor experiment showed that the egg yolk antibody paste composed of:58%oil (w/w), of39%egg yolk (w/w), preservative, antioxidant, vitamins, minerals and so on of3%(w/w). sterilization (65℃,25min) after it prepared, the titer of specific IgY unchanged, and the microbial indicators, physical and chemical indexes of the paste are consistent with the national specified standards: colony total<10CFU/g, coliform group<3MPN/g, Staphylococcus aureus:no detection/25g, mould and yeast<10CFU/g.(3) Investigate the microbial indicators, physical and chemical indicators of the egg yolk antibody paste when it was stored by6months at room temperature are no obvious change.(4) Pravtice has proved that:egg yolk antibody paste is convenient to use, no waste, curative effect is distinct, good palatability, piglet is willing to take, a longer storage period, IgY activity stability.(5) Application results showed that:Egg yolk antiobody paste has a prevention rate of87.5%,and cure rate of85%against piglets diarrhea. It’s curative effect is better than gentamicin and dysentery bacteria net.
