Dry technology has a very wide range of applications in the industrial and agricultural production, however, it is also a scientific theory lacking accurate practice, experience and small scale test data guiding the production is still the main method, which not only waste time and strength, and cost money, but also difficult to determine the physical and process parameters in the drying process. Drying mathematical model can be used to analyze the dependency and trends among the parameters and their impact on the drying process, which has high practical value.The thesis talks about the material drying process of band dryer. Mathematical model of the drying process of band dryer was set up on the base of theoretical analysis and experiment by using the theory of convective heat and mass transfer and the material drying dynamics. And numerical simulation and optimization were used in the drying process. In order to verify the accuracy of the model, I made a drying experiment test, which indicated that the simulation program can predict the process of belt dryer appropriately, and have some guidance on the production processes.In order to making the drying model reflect the drying process effectively, firstly, the paper solved the differential equations of water’s mass transfer on the base of analyzing the drying theory, got the expression of mass diffusion coefficient, solved its coefficient by orthogonal test, established the equation of dry dynamics and verified the accuracy of the model. Secondly, the paper analyzed the principle of heat and mass transfer process, established the equation of heat and mass transfer, and established the partial differential equations model joining the equation of dry dynamics, which contains the temperature and moisture of material, and the temperature and humidity of hot air. And control equations were dispersed by the method of finite difference, the program was wrote by MATLAB. A drying-process simulation was made and numerical simulation results were analyzed. At the same time, I made a man-machine interface with MATLAB GUI. Finally the paper optimized the drying parameters, calculated the optimal control parameters containing the layer thickness and drying time in the appropriate range of process parameters, and then obtained the maximum yield of the materials in this parameter. When the environment changes, we can also get the corresponding optimal process parameters by changing the relative parameters.
