The spatial distribution of land use/cover change and soil erosion was the basis of global environmental change research while also effected by natural environment and human factors. RS and GIS technology could achieve the quantitative soil erosion and land use information, positioning acquisition. To grasp the relationship between two sides would take the theoretical reference and scientific basis for the local ecological environment construction, soil and water conservation.Used of TM image data as basic data sources in1995,2000,2005and2010of Duolun County in Inner Mongolia to got land use data in each during. Learned that great changes for land use structure between1995to2010in Duolun County, the type of land use structure from farm land, grass land, unused land is gradually transformed into grass land, wood land, farm land. In addition to unused land and farm land with a decrease tendcy while the other four land use types area has increased, the grass land, wood land increased significantly; Study showed that the land use change is different, land use with a gradual development trend to shift to a higher level of land use types.Based on rainfall, topography, soils, land use and other basic information, using RUSLE model to analysis of the soil erosion change for four periods in Duolun County, under the spatial analysis and statistical functions of GIS to analysis the soil erosion rules and the relationship between land use/cover and soil erosion.Studies have shown that the soil erosion strength gradualiy reduced in Duolun County from1995to2010, the proportion of mild and higher soil erosion reduced from44.18%in1995to27.34%in2010while areas reduced65042.94hm2. The soil erosion was mainly in the very slight degree and slight degree erosion, the area percentage of very slight degree erosion occupies more than55%while violent erosion were nearly disappeared. The research of soil erosion showed that different soil erosion intensity levels changed into the nearly soil erosion levels. The very slight degree and slight degree soil erosion area increased significantly while middle degree erosion and intensity erosion area significantly declined, the percentage of very intensity erosion reduced to0.04%in2010, violent erosion area disappear in2000. That means for the long-term ecological management and environmental protection in Duolun County, the ecological environment have improved significantly and the soil erosion was basically under control. The relationship between land use/cover and soil erosion in Duolun County from1995to2010showed that the most erosion forms of land use was grassland, unused land, forest land, water and construction land occured only in very slight degree erosion type; Different land use types had different soil erosion distribution, the soil erosion area and intensity in farm land and unused land reduced differ, soil erosion intensity in grass land and wood land reduced significantly, construction land increaced slightly. That means under the different kind of eco-engineering measures, ecological environment in study area has been repaired, the ecological environment in in Duolun County was still needed to continue in the further.
