Rice is the main grain crop in China, and the important guarantee of the national grainproduction and economic development. Combine harvester is one of important tools in dealingwith the rice harvest. Tracked vehicles are applied in most of harvesters, its contact with theground area is large, unit pressure is small, the capacity of easying to soft ground is low.due to thecharacter of high moisure、low soil hardness and low carrying capacity of paddy soil. trackedcombine harvester needs to turn in the field when compeleting one operate,4ZTL-2000trackedvehicle adopts crawler unilateral drive, can realize pivot turning. In the steering process, it can notonly reduce the length of steering, shorten turning time, but also greatly improve the workefficiency. When steering, lateral track and inside track have been driving force, to form a steeringresistance moment, the greater of resistance moment, the bigger of the moment on both sides of theoutput shaft, so engine needs to provide higher power.In this paper, the domestic and foreign tracked vehice、steering mechanism and steeringperformance research were introduced. power consumption of tracked vehicle steering process wasstudied, analysis of working parameters, structure parameters factors to the influence of power,using the theoretical analysis and test research of tracked vehicle, The followings are the maincompleted research contents:(1) From the theoretical analysis, the establishment of mathematical model tracked vehicle inbig radius turning, small radius turning(including pivot turning), analysis of kinematics anddynamics, deduced the expression of total power, find out the influence factors. comprehensiveanalysis of tracked vehicle power, its size have some connection with different steering radius R,vehicle weight G, track structure parameter L/B, driving speed V, ground parameters f/.(2) Designing track vehicle steering power measurement system, using intelligent4channelmeter to measure data.(3) Using the single factor and multiple factor test plan, taking test research to trackedlvehicle in asphalt, access speed V, steering radius R, vehicle weight G factors, the influence lawof the parameters power and the primary and secondary order of it.(4) Studying pivot steering performance investigation test research,when tracked vehicle inpaddy field operations, access to different speed V, vehicle weight G two factors interaction, theindex to angular velocity, soil subsidence quantity Z, and steering power consumption P changing under the influence of various factors. steering power P is given priority to, make acomprehensive index optimization.Test shows that: In the soil moisture content is25.6%, soil hardness is355~1637kPa, twofactors interaction,fitting out power consumption P on pivot turn expression;the pivot steeringpower consumption up to8.84kW in Paddy field operation,the average power consumption undereach factors is1.2times of the firm ground.and when velocity V=0.65m/s, vehicle weight G=1450kg, which is the most appropriate track steering performance comprehensive.
