Forest survey, based on forestry survey of woodland, tree growth and forest areas within the animals, plants and their environmental conditions, with the continuous emergence of high-tech, a lot of ways and means has been provided for the entire forest resources survey. Therefore, how to make better use modern technology to determinate the diameter at breast height and the tree height quickly and easily has become an important part of the various studies.In this thesis, the purpose of the research is based on ordinary2D digital camera and3D digital camera as information collection instruments, through using the method of the close-range photogrammetry measurement and computer programs to processing the image, at the same time, using different methods to extract out of the diameter at breast height and the tree height information. According to the newly proposed method of regression model, set small woodlots plots for photogrammetry, extract measurement information of trees that within visual range in the pictures, and for the future the realization of the digitized of the method of inquiry on the forest resources, carried out of the experimental research.The significance of this study is that try a new method of close-range photogrammetry technology used in forestry, get trees information in woodlots plots, changing the traditional data collection method of forest resources first class investigation. To reduce the labor intensity of the field investigation, improve the efficiency of the investigation of forest resources, forest resources survey techniques and tools to improve the level of automation, modernization and intelligent up, pave the way for future comprehensive digitization of the entire system of forest resources. The innovation point lies in the use of ordinary2D digital cameras for measuring tree height and diameter at breast height information of forest trees in plots, and using3D digital camera to get the measurement information of individual tree.Through analysis of the experimental results, we found that the use of2D digital camera for shooting pictures of individual trees, different methods of measurement for DBH and tree height have different advantages and disadvantages, the newly proposed regression model measure DBH and tree height were able to achieve an average relative error of2.93%and6.16%; when using this method for trees to be measured in small woodlots plots, the average relative error of DBH and tree height, was7.74%and16.01%; when using3D digital camera measuring individual tree diameter at breast height and tree height, the average relative error was2.12%and6.91%, thus, using this method can improve the efficiency of measuring trees, and also has a certain practical value in the production and practice of forestry.
