Pinus tabulaeformis is one of the main afforestation tree species in north China, belong to the temperate coniferous forestation species. Pinus tabulaeformis plantations are most widely distributed in temperate coniferous forest, while the Taiyueshan region is known as "the hometown of Pinus tabulaeformis" in Shanxi Province. Pinus tabulaeformis plantations play a big role in soil and water conservation, water conservation, environmental improvement and climate regulation. Hydro-ecological effects of Pinus tabulaeformis has long been a research hotspot. The papers compared the differences of hydrological characteristics of different canopy coverage Pinus tabulaeformis from the canopy layer, litter layer and soil layer, using2011-2012two growing season(5-9months) date of rainfall monitoring, analyzed the ecological hydrology effect of pinus tabulaeformis plantation in the Taiyue Mountain of Shanxi Province, evaluated the ecological and hydrological effects of pinus tabulaeformis plantation in the region to provide a theoretical reference for that water conservation forest system. The results were as follows:(1) During the research period, the total precipitation was1220.8mm,average rainfall was21.80mm. Among them,7,8,9month precipitation is significantly higher than in May and June, indicating rainfall mainly concentrated in July, August, September. In2011,the largest monthly rainfall occurred in August, was190.77mm, the minimum monthly rainfall happened in June, was41.81mm. In2012,the largest monthly rainfall occurred in July, was299.95mm, the minimum monthly rainfall happened in June, was32.24mm.(2) Different canopy coverage of Pinus tabuleformis produces different canopy interception, throughfall and stemflow. In general, with the decrease of the canopy coverage, the canopy interception decreased, throughfall increased, and the trunk stemflow increased. Canopy interception showed a positive correlation between canopy coverage, while throughfall, stemflow and canopy coverage showed a negative correlation.(3) The litter amount of0.8,0.7,0.6and0.5canopy coverage of Pinus tabuleformis were 10.86t/hm2,8.67t/hm2,7.71t/hm2,7.43t/hm2,respectively.The amount of half decomposed layer decomposition was more than undecomposed layer in each canopy coverage. Although the litter amount of canopy density0.8was the largest, the maximum water-holding depth was canopy density0.7,14.34mm,while canopy density0.5was the minimum,8.02mm.(4) Soil bulk density increases with the increase in soil depth for all canopy coverage forests;total soil porosity and capillary porosity both decrease with the increase in soil depth. The function of soil and water conservation for canopy coverage0.7is the best under the same site condition according to the soil maximum moisture capacity and soil infiltration rate.(5)The surface runoff of different canopy coverage were24.81mm (canopy coverage0.8),20.63mm (canopy coverage0.7),28.11mm (canopy coverage0.6),34.98mm (canopy coverage0.5), while the total sediment concentration were1.88kg·hm-2,1.78kg·hm-2,3.03kg·hm-2,4.32kg· hm-2.
