Clinical Efficacy Of Aspirin With Sarpogrelate Hydrochloride In Treating Mild To Moderate Arteriosclerosis Obilterans Of Lower Limb

Objective: To evaluate the Clinical efficacy and safety of aspirin with sarpogrelatehydrochloride in treating mild to moderate arteriosclerosis obilterans of lower limb.Methods: The objects of present study were selected from patients with lowerextremity arteriosclerosis obliterans, who were consecutively admitted to the divisionof vascular surgery in first affiliated hospital Fujian medical university from July2010to March2012.Sixty patients with ASO were randomly divided into combinedtreatment group(n=30) and control group(n=30) according to the medication taken.Based on the conventional treatment, both groups were given aspirin100mg qd by4weeks, But the combined treatment group was added sarpogrelate hydrochloride100mg tid by4weeks. Both pathological changes of the peripheral vessels and nerve,pain-free and maximal walking distance, ankle-branchial blood pressure index(ABI)were compared before and after the treatment between the2groups. Also thecardiovascular events(include myocardial infarction, cerebral vascular accident orpulmonary embolism) and critical limb ischemia, major bleeding rate, adverse drugreaction were observed during treatment.Results:1. There were no significant differences in gender, age, hypertension, diabetes andother risk factors between these two groups.2. Compared to the control group the subjective symptoms of the treatment groupimprove significantly (intermittent claudication84.6%, pain87.5%, numbness84%,the increase of consciously skin temperature86.4%); painless walking distanceincreased from the pretherapy378.4(70-1650) m to490.2(86-2100) m, P <0.05;maximum walking distance increased from the pretherapy465.5(95-2320) m to685.6(110-3000) m, P <0.05; The ABI of lower limbs increased from pretherapy0.78±0.24 (left),0.76±0.26(right) to0.82±0.27(left),0.80±0.30, P <0.05.Conclusions:1. Aspirin with sarpogrelate hydrochloride in treating mild to moderatearteriosclerosis obilterans of lower limb is safe and effective.2. Compared to conventioal aspirin therapy,combined therapy of aspirin andsarpogrelate improves the symptoms effectively,increases both pain-free and maximalwalking distance and ameliorates the blood supply of lower limbs.
