| Objective To explore the clinicalpathological factors related with the lymph node metastasis in colon cancer, find the risk factors of lymph node metastasis and provide a reference for the treatment of colon cancer. Methods The clinicalpathological data of392patients with colon cancer who underwent radical resection in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from September2008to December2011was retrospectively analyzed. The associations between lymph node metastasis and clinicopathological factors were evaluated by chi-square test and Logistic multiple regression analysis. Results Result of univariate analysis:â‘ gender, tumor location and tumor size was not related with lymph node metastasis rates and lymph node metastasis ratio (p>0.05);â‘¡the gross type was not related with lymph node metastasis rates (p>0.05),but correlated with lymph node metastasis ratio (p<0.05):â‘¢histological type, tumor differentiation and depth of bowel wall invasion were siginificantly correlated with lymph node metastasis rates and lymph node metastasis ratio (p<0.05). Logistic multivariate regression analysis showed tumor differentiation and depth of bowel wall invasion were the independent factors leading to lymph node metastases (p<0.05),the depth of bowel wall invasion was the most important factor correlated with lymph node metastasis. Conclusion The lymphatic metastasis of colon cancer is related to histological type, depth of bowel wall invasion, tumor differentiation. Depth of bowel wall invasion being the major factor. Histological type, depth of bowel wall invasion and tumor differentiation could provide a reference for the treatment of colon cancer. |
