Objective To investigate the clinical value of three-dimensional ultrasonography in diagnosing different types of congenital uterine anomalies. Methods Three-dimensional ultrasonography(3DUS) multi-plane imaging was performed in324cases. Hysteroscopy and/or laparoscopy (HSc and/or Lap) results were served as the gold standard. Results There were247women with nomal uterus (76.2%) and77women with congenital uterine anomalies(23.8%) diagnosed by3DUS,while252women with nomal uterus (77.8%) and72women with congenital uterine anomalies were diagnosed by HSc and/or Lap in the study.Concordance between3DUS and HSc and/or Lap around the type of anomaly was verified in311cases (Kappa Index0.896,95%CI0.869-0.923). There are different Kappa Indexes in different types of congenital uterine anomalies diagnosed by3DUS comparing with that by HSc and/or Lap. Kappa Indexes of different types of congenital uterine anomalies are:septate uterus0.950(95%CI0.925-0.975),unicornuate or rudimentary horn uterus0.830(95%CI0.712-0.948). arcuate uterus0.709(95%CI0.570-0.848), and special types of uterus 0.657(95%CI0.526-0.788).Conclusion3DUS is of great clinical value in diagnosing and classifying congenital uterine anomalies, which can help judging and assessing the risks and outcomes of adverse pregnancy, and choosing appropiate treatments.
