OBJECTIVE:To compare the effect after hepatoectomy with or without routine maneuver. To figureout the exact impact of intermittent inflow maneuver during hepatic resection on hepatitis, steatosis or cirrhosis compared with normal liver.METHODS:79cases underwent hepatectomies without routine maneuver. Intermittent Pringlemaneuver (IPM) was applied during hepatectomy in88patients for liver cancer. The detailswith or after operation was recorded and lab tests such as aspartate aminotransferase, alanineaminotransferase and bilirubin was done.RESULTS:The operation time, transection time and blood loss were longer in non-occlusion group, but is no statistically difference compared with IPM group. In non-occlusion groupPostoperative, transaminase and bilirubin were elevated not so significantly as IPM groupand fallen to normal more quickly. This phenomenon is more obvious in patients withcirrhosis liver.CONCLUSION:It should be paid more attension on selective occlusion technologies, surgicaltechniques and modern devices. It is possible and safe to avoid routine PM or IPM withadequate surgical skills, appropriate use of new equipments, combined with intraoperativeanesthetic management.
