Application Of Perfusion CT And CT Angiography In Transient Ischemic Attack

Purpose:For TIA, CT scan can rule out intracerebral diseases such as cerebralhemorrhage, brain tumors, etc. CTP can show the information of brain tissuehemodynamic. CTA examination helps to clarify the etiology. Application ofCTP combined with CTA can achieve that checks out multiple information withanatomy, hemodynamics and etiology with one time. Compare with otherimaging methods, it has such advantages as quantitative accuracy, quick andeasy, without radio isotope and xenon, high spatial resolution. It has importantapplication value for the clinical diagnosis of TIA, observation of curativeeffect and prognosis.Materials and methods:Random select30patients who are TIA by clinical diagnosis in the SecondHospital of Jilin University form May2009to December2010. Thepathological group is their perfusion abnormalities. The control group is mirrorregion of their brain tissues. Use CTP and CTA with in2hours form onset toobserver the changing of TTP, MTT, CBF and CBV between case groups andcontrol group, analysis the relationship with CTA.Results:1.The results of30patients’ affected side and healthy side are TTP（26.12±3.99）s，（23.47±3.47）s，P＜0.05；MTT（7.88±2.93）s，（4.32±1.89）s，P＜0.05；CBF（41.36±11.28）ml（/100g·min）（，55.94±14.68）ml（/100g·min），P＜0.05；CBV（3.23±1.51）ml/100g，（2.47±0.98）ml/100g，P＜0.05。2. In30patients, there’re21abnormal cases (70%) about head CTA whichis including15abnormal cases (71%). In the9normal cases about head CTA,3abnormal cases (33%). The differences of their positive rates have statisticallysignificant. Conclusion:1. TTP and MTT are the high sensitivity index in the examination of CTP.With the changing of CBF and CBV, it reflects the lesions’ different evolutionstate of Pathological physiology.2. Low perfusion is one of the basics of pathological physiology of TIA.The main etiology of TIA are the formation of artery multiple atheromatousplaque and the vascular stenosis.3. CTP and CTA provide the imaging information directly and objectivelyabout the pathogeny and pathogenesis of TIA. Meanwhile, it provides theimportant theoretical basis for the patients of TIA to do individual treatment.
