ObjectiveTo explore the clinical effect of indirect decompression through posterior approach which combined with pedicle screw fixation and herbal medicines for blood-activating and stasis-dissolving on treating of TLBF.Methods40patients who suffered thoracolumbar vertebrae burst fracture were randomly divided into the treatment group (indirect decompression combined with gu yi fang) and the control group (Posterolateral decompression combined with gu yi fang). In each group of20cases. The amount of blood lose and time consumed during the operation were documented. Also several parameters were detected before and after the surgery, including:relative height of fractured vertebra, kyphotic angle and area of the spinal canal. All of the indexes were statistically analyzed.ResultsThere was no statistical significant difference between the two groups in relative height of the fractured vertebra posterior margin, kyphotic angle and area of the spinal canal not only pre-operation and post-operation, but also half a year postoperative. However there was statistical significant difference between the two groups in anterior height and kyphotic angles’loss rate after the surgery, amount of blood lose and time consumed during the operation. In duration of the operation:group A was95±13min and group B was146±18min;In the amount of blood lose:group A was201±106ml and group B was539±176ml; In anterior height loss rate:group A was3.85±2.60%and group B was7.20±3.84%;In kyphotic angles’loss:group A was2.12±2.11°and group B was6.47±3.82°.Preoperative and postoperative’s comparison, preoperative and half a year postoperative’s comparison, both of the two groups had tatistical significant differenceConclusionIndirect decompression through posterior approach combined with pedicle screw fixation and herbal medicines for blood-activating and stasis-dissolving on treating of TLBF has the advantages of less trauma, shorter operative time, curative effect and so on. It should be a better treatment method, if the patients were selected properly.
