The Study On The Five-zang Related Theory Of Type2Diabetes Mellitus

ObjectiveThis study for clinical syndrome of TCM of326Type2diabetes mellitus cases is under the guidance of The five-zang related theory originated by Prof. Deng Tietao, using epidemiology, nonlinear principal component analysis, structural equation modeling method to discuss the relationship between five viscera.MethodsThe data of traditional Chinese medicine syndromes about326Type2diabetes mellitus patients were collected from the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine. The database is established and managed by Microsoft Excel. Descriptive statistical analysis by SPSS17.0:326Type2diabetes mellitus cases’basic information and clinical syndrome of five viscera. Nonlinear principal component analysis by SAS8.1:to generate five principal components representing composite index of clinical syndrome of five viscera, and then complete structural equation modeling analysis to study the relationship between the five viscera.ResultsStudy of326cases, male cases171, female cases155, mean age was60.83±13.06. The first four complications were hypertensive disease, diabetic hyperlipidemia, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, diabetic nephropathy. The total syndromes of five viscera is64, including spleen23, liver14, lung8, kidney10, heart9. Symptoms frequency analysis showed that the main clinical manifestations of five visera are thirs、blur、urinating frequently、 weakness、numbness. The relationship symbols of lung-heart、lung-kidney、 spleen-lung are same with the five-zang related theory. ConelusionIn this study, using the method of nonlinear principal component analysis combined structural equation modeling analysis to analyze comprehensively the clinical symptoms of Type2diabetes mellitus and quantitative relationship between the five visera. The relationship symbols of lung-heart、lung-kidney、spleen-lung are same with the five-zang related theory. In this study, the clinical data after statistical analysis showed that five visera are closed to each other, abnormal physiological function of one will affect the others. Therefore, discussing the interrelationship between the five visera of Type2diabetes mellitus will be helpful for Type2diabetes mellitus diagnosis and treatment.
