Retrospective Research On The Clinical Effect And The Economics Of The Therapy Of Acupoint Injection In Self-blood On Adult Asthma

Asthma is a common, chronic disease in the respiratory department. Currently, the patients still suffer from the high cost and bear a severe economic burden, although there are some standard measures on treatments of asthma to control the development of asthma. On the basis of the western medicine, we can use the therapy of Acupoint injection in self-blood to control the development of asthma and decrease the cost of the treatment.ObjectivesBy studying the clinical effect and the economics in retrospect including the change of the total cost before and after the treatment, the number of needing emergency and hospitalization, the asymptomatic days to evaluate the worthiness of the clinical effect and the economics of the Therapy of Acupoint injection in self-blood on adult asthma.MethodsWe have selected154suitable asthma patients from Nanhai Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.78asthma patients who had received the entire three cycles of treatment of the therapy of Acupoint injection in self-blood during18to65years old are the treatment group, while76asthma patients who were only treated with only the conventional therapy are the comparing group. We fill the questionnaires which are about the clinical effect and the economy of the treatment of asthma by telephone or in the scene, then collect the questionnaires and analyze it.Result1. The total cost, symptom-free days and the score of ACT before and after treatment of the two group are significant difference (P=0.00). 2. Before and after the treatment of needing emergency and hospitalized of the two group are no significant differences between times (P>0.05).3. The comparisons of the reduction in the total cost among the two group about before and the first and the second year after the treatment are significance difference (p<0.05). Treatment group reduces the total cost obviously to be higher than the comparing group, and also in the second year.4. The comparisons of symptom-free days among before and the first and the second year after the treatment of the two group are significance difference (p<0.05). Treatment group elevates the symptom-free days obviously to be higher than the comparing group, also in the second year.5. The increasing of score of ACT before and after the treatment of the two group are no significant difference (P>0.05).ConclusionThrough this topic clinical observation research, it suggests that there is the sizable effect of the therapy of Acupoint injection in self-blood on asthma. This therapy is better than the only conventional therapy in helping the asthma patients decrease the high cost, alleviate the symptom, increase the asymptomatic days and the Self-evaluation on the controlling asthma. It receives a satisfactory results in clinical practice with the advantages of low cost, no side-effects and easy way to persist, which is worthy of further clinical and research.
