Based on the capable of hepatocyte-targeted of glycyrrhizin, we synthesized novel composite materials of GL-GO. And then the application of GL-GO for hepatocyte-targeted drug delivery system was investigated, which included the determination, loading and release behavior and electrochemical behavior of GL.Water-soluble CdSe quantum dots (QDs) were synthesized in aqueous solution with thioglycolic acid as stabilizer. By using CdSe QDs as fluorescent probe, based on the enhancing of the fluorescence intensity of CdSe QDs by glycyrrhizin, a simple, rapid and sensitive method for the determination of glycyrrhizin was proposed and validated. Furthermore, the effects of experimental conditions were investigated. And the possible mechanism of interaction between CdSe QDs and glycyrrhizin was discussed. The proposed method was successfully applied in the determination of glycyrrhizin in actual samples, and the results were in good agreement with that of the national standard method in Chinese Pharmacopoeia.Graphene oxide (GO) was prepared by using an improved Hummers. The glycyrrhizin-decorated graphene oxide (GL-GO), a novel hepatocyte-targeted delivery vehicle was synthesized. GL-GO can be obtained under mild conditions without addition of any organic solvents and surfactants, which is very suitable for pharmaceutical applications as a promising hepatocyte-targeted delivery carrier. An effective loading of GL on GO as high as5.19mg/mg was obtained and the release of GL on GO showed strong pH dependence. Furthermore, the interaction between GL and GO was investigated by spectroscopy.In the process of reducing GO, adding GL, GL modified graphene (GH) was synthesized. And this as-made composite was used as a modifier of the glass carbon electrode (GCE). At the modified electrode, p-nitrophenol showed good electrochemical behavior and the peak current is significantly improved.
