| Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of total hip arthroplasty for unstable intertrochanteric hip fractures in elderly patients.Methods Between February2010to February2012,twenty-three olderly patients with intertrochanteric hip fractures treated by total hip arthroplasty were investigated in The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi medical university,including14males and9females.The age at the examination ranged from75~87years old with the average of81.7±3.5years.Results Totally21cases were followed up,and the average time was13.7months.According to Harris hip score,the score at the examination ranged from67-95with the average of87.3±6.5.In these21casess,9cases were excellent, and10were good,and the excellent to good rate was90.48%.There was no serious complications was found after surgery.Conclusions Total hip arthroplasty is an effective treatment for unstable intertrochanteric hip fractures in elderly patients. |
