Purpose:To evaluate the expression of aquaporin1(AQP1) in hydronephrosis children s urine, and to study the clinical significance.Material and Methods:Twenty-six children with different degree hydronephrosis were selected as experimental group (7mild,10moderate,9severe hydronephrosis). All the patients was diagnosed by Ultrasound, X-ray computer tomography(CT), or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).No one had other urinary system diseases.Ten healthy children were selected as control group. Under the strict conditions, the preoperative urinasanguinis, intraoperative renal pelvis urine, urinasanguinis of obstruction which was relieved after3days and7days were respectively collected in the experimental group. At the same time, collected the control group s preoperative urinasangu. AQP1levels was measured by indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Results:To compared with control group, AQP1levels of preoperation in moderate and severe hydronephrosis group were significantly decreased (p<0.05). And severe hydronephrosis group lower than the moderate group (p<0.05).There was no significant difference between mild hydronephrosis group and control group (p>0.05). It made no difference between3days after surgery and intraoperation (p>0.05).Yet, the expression of Urine AQP1in7days after surgery was definitely increased compared with those in intraoperation (p<0.05),but still lower than control group (p<0.05). urine AQP1levels of control group, preoperation and7days after surgery had positive correlation with urine osmolality; but urine AQP1leves of intraoperative and3days after surgery had no correlation with urine osmolalityConclusions:This study demonstrates that urine AQP1levels of congenital hydronephrosis might be a new Indicator to evaluate the concentration function of Kidney.
