BACKGROUND&OBJECTIVEEpilepsy (EP) is originated in the brain circuitry abnormal discharge of a kind of disease. and is children nervous system common diseases,18years old the following accounts for about two-thirds of all people with epilepsy, prevalence rate of3.45per thousand. Migraine (MA) is the most common neurological children disease, The incidence of MA is increasing year by year in China and even the world. at about1%~17%, but in the crowd in epilepsy rate was8.4%~23%, is the most common disease of epilepsy. one of the serious threatening children’s has become seizure outcome and health of body and mind a kind of disease. So the positive control seizures and effective in the treatment of migraine is of great significance. At present the main treatment for epilepsy and migraine is mainly means drug treatment, the treatment effect and improve in improving the quality of life of children of the plays a very important role.Flunarizine (FNZ) had good effect on sudden deafness is both preventative treatment of migraine drug a line, also has the antiepileptic effect, so the application in an antiepileptic drug based in part of flunarizine had good effect on sudden deafness, explore the efficacy, safety and tolerability of children epilepsy combined migraine. METHODSCollect age6~13years old, idiopathic epilepsy, mentally normal children.Record age at epilepsy onset, duration, seizure types, EEG, diagnosis age, treatment age, current AEDs, time of treatment, family history,et al. Obtained children with epilepsy comorbid migraine and seizure control1months were distributed randomly into experimental group(AF group),control group(A group).AF group were given AEDs and FNZ, A group limited to AEDs. Follow-up visits at3-,6-and12-month, assess and compared the remission of seizures and adverse reaction in the two group. And compared migraine episodes after treatment3-,6-and12-month and FNZ before.RESULTSA total of433participants were obtained with52cases and the prevalence of migraine headache in pediatric patients with epilepsy was12%.41cases were enrolled, the mean age was8.76±2.51years,range6-13years,29males,12females. The total effective rate of epilepsy seizures were above95%, there was no significant difference(P>0.05)between the two groups. At the3rd month, the AF group had20/22(90.9%) cases headache significant relief, higher than13/19(68.4%) in A group, there was some significant difference(P<0.05).At the6th month, the AF group had18/21(85.7%) cases headache significant relief, higher than14/19(73.7%) in A group. At the12th month, AF group had18/21(85.7%)cases headache significant relief, higher than13/18(72.2%) in A group, there were no significant difference(P>0.05).During3-,6-and12-month,headache frequency in AF group than retrospective baseline, there is statistical significance(p<0.05); A group than retrospective baseline, there is statistical significance (p<0.05).During3-,6-and12-month, headache duration in AF group than retrospective baseline, there is statistical significance(p<0.05); A group than retrospective baseline, there is statistical significance (p<0.05).At the3rd month, the AF group7/22(31.8%) cases had adverse reaction, higher than3/19(15.8%) in A group. At the6th month, the AF group7/21(33.3%) cases had adverse reaction, higher than3/19(15.8%) in A group. In one year, the AF group7/21(33.3%) cases had side effects, higher than3/18(16.7%) in A group, there were some differences, which were not significant in adverse reaction between the two groups(P>0.05).CONCLUSION1. The prevalence of migraine headache in pediatric patients with epilepsy was12%.2. Low dose of FNZ combined with AEDs is effective prophylaxis and safe for treatment of children with epilepsy combined migraine, while controlling seizures with AEDs. To reduce migraine frequency and duration, did not cause epilepsy seizures.3. More kind of adverse reaction occurred during the whole treatment and observation period and most of them were mild.
