Objective1、 To compare the detection rate of MoCA and MMSE in screening for cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke.2、 To investigate the risk factors of cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke. Methods A hundred and forty patients with ischemic stroke were collected from the department of neurology of Lanzhou University Second Hospital from December2010till October2011to analyze with neuropsychological tests including mini-mental state examination and Montreal cognitive assessment.1、 The study compared the detection rate of cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke screened with MMSE and MoCA (Beijing Version).2、 Clinical data of patients with ischemic stroke were recorded and divided all the patients into two groups(VCI group and N-VCI group), according to the cut-off value of MoCA.Possible risk factors of cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke were analyzed by univariate logistic regression analysis, then related risk factors were analyzed by multivariate logistic regression analysis, which were screened out the risk factors of cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke.Results1、 Screened with MMSE and MoCA,the difference of detection rate of cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke was statistically significant (P<0.05).2、 Cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke was associated with hypertension, diabetes, multiple infaction, leukoaraiosis and the lesions of frontallobe(P<0.05),but it was no significant correlation with age, gender, lower-education level and hyperlipidemia(P>0.05).Conclusion1、MoCA is more sensitive than MMSE in screening cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke, and MoCA has some value for assessment of cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke.2、 Hypertension, diabetes, multiple cerebral infaction, leukoaraiosis and the lesions of frontallobe are the risk factors of cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke, while early and comprehensive treatment for risk factors can delay the development of the disease and promote the rehabilitation of patients.
