| Objective:To investigate whether the functional c.-2265C/T polymorphisms in the promoter region of BRCA1are associated with epithelial ovarian carcinoma. Methods:The BRCA1c.-2265C/T were genotyped by MGB-TaqMan PCR in123epithelial ovarian carcinoma patients and123age matched control women. Results:In the Epithelial ovarian cancer group,44patients carry(35,8%) CC genotype,62cases carry (50.4%) CT genotype,17cases were (13.8%)TT genotype. In age-matched controls there45women (36.6%)were CC genotype,60women were (48.8%) CT genotype,18(14.6%) women were TT genotype. The genotype frequency of the SNP did not show significant difference between cases and controls.(P>0.05).Compared with CC genotype, the TT genotype showed decreased risk for the low differential subtype (OR=0.488,95%CI=0.053-4.509, P=0.527)as well as the subtype of endometrioid adenocarcinoma(OR=0.688,95%CI=0.125-3.794, P=0.667).Discussion and Conclusion:The TT genotype showed lower risk to develop the low differential and endometrioid adenocarcinoma. As the sample was quite small and was not statistically significant.Further analysis using a larger sample size should be performed to confirm our findings. |
