Steroid compound is widely existed in plants and animals, many have all kinds of biological activity, their function is very extensive, some are used to treat disease, or production of the new drug development, such as the treatment of allergic diseases hydrocortisone, contraceptive drugs progestin, diuretics. Steroid hormones has the very strong resistance to infection, allergy, antivirus and resistance to shock the pharmacological function, and also they used to treat rheumatism, cardiovascular, lymphocytic leukemia, cell encephalitis, skin disease, antitumor and rescue the critically ill patient. In the pharmaceutical industry, steroidal compound is the biggest product market demand. Diosgenin is fundamental raw material for steroid hormone drugs. Testosterone is also a kind of steroid hormone, it is produced by the man’s testicles or ovaries secretion of the female, adrenal also can secrete a few testosterone, it can maintain muscle strength and the quality, and also maintain bone density strength, refreshing, and enhance physical functions. Testosterone affects many system’s function of body, including:sanguification, calcium balance, bone mineralization, lipid metabolism, and sugar metabolism and prostate growth.A new strain was selected to study the metabolism of diosgenin and testosterone, and their metabolites were isolated and identified, the partial metabolic pathway of disogenin and testosterone were revealed. The cultivation conditions of IBL14were optimized to solve the problem of the formation of mycelium pellets during the cultivation in fermentation medium, the metabolic characters by IBL14were investigated. The results indicated that the cell ages of IBL14, when diosgenin is added, are very important to the results of transformation. In conclusion, this thesis described a new strain IBL14which has powerful degradation ability against steroids. And using it as the model, the partial metabolic pathway of disogenin was revealed, which is a new metabolic mechanism of steroids. This novel pathway could be helpful to understand the fate of steroidal pollutants in the nature.
