Objective:By detecting the expression of WWOX and P53proteins in the tissue of non-smallcell lung cancer(NSCLC) and paracancerous tissues.We studied the effects of WWOXand P53proteins and the correlation among WWOX and P53proteins on thedevelopment of NSCLC.Methods:1. Immunohistochemieal staining methods were used to respectively detect theexpression of WWOX and P53gene in51cases of NSCLC and20cases of the samecases of paracancer tissues of NSCLC2. Statistical analysis was performed by spss17.0for windows. All tests was conducted at a significance level of α=0.05.Results:1. The positive rates of expression WWOX and P53protein was25.49%and58.82%in NSCLC,whereas in adjacent normal lung tissues it was85.0%and10.0%.2. WWOX expression was strongly associated with tumor histologic and histologicgrade, lymph node metastasis,smoking and pathological grade(p<0.05).Theexpression of WWOX was not related with Age, sex and tumor TNM stage(p>0.05).3. P53expression was strongly associated with tumor histologic and histologicgrade,lymph node metastasis, and TNM stage(p<0.05).The expression of WWOXwas not related with Age, smoking,sex and tumor pathological grade,(p>0.05).4. WWOX was negative relation with the expression of P53in NSCLCcarcinomatissues(r=-0.333,p<0.05).Conclusion:1. The expression levels of WWOX protein in NSCLC tissue were significantly lowerthan that in adjacent normal lung tissues. The expression of WWOX protein didplayed an important role in occurrence and development of NSCLC. 2. The expression of WWOX protein was associated with multiple clinicopathologicalcharacteristics relevant to prognosis. The expression of WWOX gene wassignificantly associated with smoking, pathological grade, differentiation level andlymph node metastasis.3. The expression levels of mutant type P53protein in NSCLC tissue weresignificantly higher than that in adjacent normal lung tissues. Mutant type P53protein was correlated with differentiation of umor cell、TNM stage and lymphnode metastasis. They may involve in the oncogenesis、progression and lymph nodemetastasis of NSCLC.It was suggested that mutant type P53protein could be anassistant parameter for the evaluation of some biological behavior of NSCLC.4. The expression of wwox and mutant type P53in non-small cell lung carcinoma hada striking inversely correlation,they are coordinated in occurrence and developmentof NSCLC...
