| Objective: To study the expression of midkine(MK) and miscrovessel density(MVD)in patients with adenoid cystic carcinoma(ACC) and its relationship with clinical andpathological feature, and and to detect correlation between the expression of MK andMVD in ACC.Methods: Immunohisto-chemistry analysis (SP method) for MK and MVD wereperformed on60cases of ACC and26cases of normal salivary gland tissue.Results:1. In ACC MK expression rate was70.0％(42／60), and it mainly located incytoplasm with brownish yellow granular substance. There was no expressionof MK in normal tissue. It was statistically significant (P=0.00). The count ofMVD was38.73±8.96in ACC, and11.15±3.33in normal salivary gland tissue,respectively, which was statistically significance(P=0.00).2. The expression of MK and MVD were unrelated with age、gender and type inACC(P＞0.05)；The expression of MK and MVD were correlated with tumorsize、lymph node metastasis and TNM in adenoid cystic carcinoma(P＜0.05＝.3. The expression of MK and MVD has a positive correlation in ACC(r=41.00P＜0.05＝.Conclusion:1. In ACC, MK was highly expressed，which were related with the size of tumorsand lymph node metastasis and TNM stage. MK is one of the possiblediagnostic as adenoid cystic carcinoma.2. In ACC, MVD count was significantly higher than the count of the normalsalivary gland tissue, which were related with tumor size, lymph node metastasisand TNM stage, and increased with tumor volume and the production of lymphnode metastasis and higher TNM staging increased. In ACC, the expression ofMK and MVD were positively correlated, by acting on tumor blood vessel, whichsuggested that MK may be promote the occurrence, development, invasion and metastasis of salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma. |
