Gemcitabine Combined With Cisplatin As Adjuvant Chemotherapy In Resected Non-small Cell Lung Cancer-A Retrospective Analysis With100Cases

Objective:to evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of gemcitabine combined with cisplatin as adjuvant chemotherapy in resected non-small cell lung cancer.Patients and Methods:This study reviewed the100patients’ chart with resected NSCLC treated with adjuvant chemotherapy of cisplatin and gemcitabine in our hospital.Results:Of all the100cases of non-small cell lung cancer patients, male82and female18, median age59years(36to73years). Ninety-nine out of100(99%) patients had KPS over80, adenocarcinoma accounted for42%,and squamous cell carcinoma55%.Most patients had pathologic ⅡB and ⅢA stage disease. One hundred patients completed a total of372cycles chemotherapy, median number of chemotherapy cycles was4cycles. The patients who finished the4cycles of chemotherapy completion rate was85%, of which76cases (76%) completed the planned full-dose chemotherapy.The median dose of Gemcitabine was377.1mg per square meter of body-surface area, the median dose intensity of708mg/(m2week), the median dose of cisplatin was293.38mg/m2, the median dose intensity of25.24mg/(m2week). Safety profile:Grade3/4neutropenia occurred in27.5%of patients, and thrombocytopenia in9.9%。The3/4non-hematological adverse effect consisted mainly of nausea/vomiting, occurred in13.5%. The lyear and2year suvival rate without recurrence is67%,and62%respectively.Conclusion:The combination of cisplatin and gemcitabine regimen is feasible and well-tolerated in the adjuvant setting for non-small-cell-lung-cancer. The data of5year survival and recurrence free survival to support the efficacy are needed.
