Objective:1.We collected the cases of perioperative deaths in the past four years and analyzed their epidemiological characteristics retrospectively.2.To investigate the risk factors for the death of patients in perioperative period. Methods:We investigated214cases of patients, who were dead in perioperative period in our hospital from January2007to December2010,recorded their department, gender, age, operation opportunity, trauma or not in preoperative, hypertension or not, diabetes or not, cardiac arrhythmia or not, respiratory diseases or not, coronary heart diseases or not, heart function classification, renal function classification, liver function classification, nerve system score, ASA classification, operation classification, Anesthesia classification, operate time, CRE or not in intraoperative, the cause of death and survival days, were analyzed retrospectively.Results:1. Sexual proportion is1.82:1including138men and76women. above40years old and0-9years old accounting for79.44percent overall are the most.2.The perioperative mortality of Cardiovascular surgery department were the highest, accounting for1.07%,followed by Neurosurgery department and General surgery department.3.The common causes of periopetative death were heart failure(26.17%), respiratory tract obstructional(14.02%), MODS(13.56%), shock(8.41%), brain failure (7.94%), infection(6.54%), heart and cerebrovascular accident(6.07%).The causes of death in postoperative within7days:heart and brain failure, heart and cerebrovascular accident, shock, airway obstruction and craniocerebral trauma; during8-30days were MODS, infection, ARE More than30days, the main causes were MODS and infection.4.Multivariate COX regression analysis identified that trauma, Anesthesia classification, heart function classification and CRE were the risk factors for perioperative death.Conclusion:1.The top three of perioperative mortality were Cardiovascular surgery department, Neurosurgery department and General surgery department.2.The main causes of periopetative death were heart failure, airway obstruction, MODS, shock, brain failure, infection, heart and cerebrovascular accident. The main causes of death in postoperative within7days were sudden death,after7days,were dead of complications.3.Trauma, Anesthesia classification, heart function classification and CRE were the risk factors for perioperative death.
