Practice And Evaluation On Training Mode For Health Workers In Western China

ObjectiveTo explore and standardize the training mode for health workers in western China, the training effect was evaluated and the experience was summarized through the implementation of "Training Program for Health workers in western China" in Xiangya Hospital in2011. We hope our experience could lay the foundation for further work in the future and become a valuable reference for the exploration of training mode for health workers in western China as well as other less developed areas.MethodsThere were70trainees received this training for a period of six months. Comprehensive information were collected and recorded narratively and systematacially. The questionnaire survey method and comparative analysis method were used to survey the implementation and access the effect of the training mode respectively.Results1)The sending unites were all located in the western China and73.3%of them were Grade Ⅱ hospitals.70.0%of the trainees aged between31and40,77.1%of the trainees were with intermediate or higher professional titles, and71.4%of them were with a Bachelor’s or higher diploma.4.3%and5.7%of the trainees were from the management and nursing department in hospitals respectively.2) In the opening week, a psychometric test was carried out to the trainees by using SCL-90scoring scale. The results showed there were not statistical difference in the ethnic and levels of the sending units (p>0.05), while the scores of depression factor, anxiety factor and interpersonal sensitive of female trainees were significantly higher than those of male ones (p<0.05).3) The most important pre-job theoretical course was Medical Computer Network Management and Operation (96.98%), which was also the course with the lowest satisfaction evaluation (89.25%). The difference in scores between base-line tests and final examination were statistically significant (p<0.05).21.43%of the trainees chose one technique and78.57%of them chose two techniques to learn.54.28%of the trainees could apply the learned techniques independently and41.43%of the students could apply at least one technique under the guidance. The difference of the effect of learning one technique and two was statistically significant (p<0.05). In the satisfaction assessment, the practicality and the overall harvest from training had the highest satisfaction rate of100%. The satisfaction rate of the duration of training was88.57%.4) The assessed importance degree of stress management training was97.37%. In the specific indicators, case references, communication skills and how to attract students had the highest satisfaction rate of100.0%. The assessed satisfaction rate was98.77%. In the specific indicators, the assessed satisfaction rate for academic/horizons level and course timing was98.41%and90.48%respectively, while the assessed satisfaction rates for other indicators were all100%.Conclusion1)The training mode of health workers in western China had satisfactory practicality and maneuverability. We hope this will become a valuable reference for the exploration of the training mode for health workers in western China and the other less developed areas.2) The incentive psychology philosophy was integrated into the training measures, which contributes to the improvement of motivation, interest, emotion, will and other non-intellectual factors of the trainees. It was recommended to master the mental health status of the trainees, especially female trainees, to make psychological counseling timely and to carry out psychological stress management training.3) A targeted training plan should be developed according to their own situation. It’s better to chose one technique to learn. The quality of learning techniques should be focused on, and the independent application of these new techniques after returning to the sending unites should be the fundamental purpose. Under the premise of ensuring the training quality, the flexible educational system should be taken into practice.
