Abstract/Summary:
Objective To investigate the relationship between pigment epithelium-derivedfactor (PEDF) single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNP)and coronary arterydisease in Chinese Han elderly males.Methods796subjects were include:416coronary artery disease patients(case group),380normal subjects(control group). All subjects were genotypedfor SNPs (rs11078634、rs1136287、rs11658342、rs12453107、 rs6828、rs12603825、rs8075977)of PEDF by ligase detection reaction. Results There were no significant differences in frequencies of genotype andallele of SNPs (rs11078634、rs1136287、rs11658342、rs12453107、 rs6828、rs12603825) of PEDF betweem control and case groups. The allele frequence ofrs8075977was significantly different between case and control subjects(P=0.0067,OR=0.70;95%CI=0.52-0.94). To contrl Type I error the Bonferroni correction wasused, with the adjusted alpha value of0.007.Conclusions Ours results suggest that rs8075977may be association withcoronary artery disease in Chinese Han elderly males.
