Professional Values, Ways And Clinical Practice Behavior Correlation Studies Of Nursing Undergraduate

Objective:In this study, through our school in clinical practice at different stages of undergraduate nursing students professional values, coping ways of clinical practice behavior survey to find out their status and dynamics change; analysis the demographic variables of undergraduate nursing students on professional values, coping styles clinical practice behavior; clear professional values, to deal with the relationship between the way clinical practice behavior; for nursing education, clinical practice management, formulate scientific and rational internship program to provide a reference and data support, there by increasing the nursing students’quality of clinical practice.Methods:In this study, using convenience sampling method, professional values, and clinical practice behavior questionnaire on the2007undergraduate nursing students.The investigation of the applic ation tools for:general information questionnaire, the Nurses’ Occupational Values Scales, Inventory Summary Coping Scales, undergraduate nursing students in clinical practice behavior scale. All data entry SPSS17.0software for statistical analysis, using the mean, frequency, percentage, standard deviation, statistical de script ion; t-test, Pearson correlation, multiple linear regression and statistical inference, come to the corresponding conclusions.Results:(1) The score of professional values of nursing undergraduate internship is highest in the first month (3.46±0.58), and the third months is lowest (3.29±0.53), trust score is highest, is3.77, and activism score is lowest, is2.34, in the mean of each dimension of professional values. There is a significant difference between the time before practice and the first month and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).(2) The score of positive coping ways of undergraduate nursing students is higher than negative coping ways; the score of positive coping ways of is highest in the third months is (2.26±0.49), and lowest in the first month is (2.19±0.50). The score of negative coping ways is highest in the first months is (1.59±0.88), and lowest in the third month is (1.14±0.81).Positive coping ways at before the internship and the first month internship and the third months was statistically significant (p<0.05).Negative coping ways were statisti-cally significant (P<0.05) except before the internship and the first month.Positive coping ways higher than the national norm, negative coping ways lower than the national norm (except for the first month’s practice).(3) The total average undergraduate nursing students in clinical practice behavior is above2.5, the total average score of the first month internship (2.93±0.77) is the highest, the total average score of the second month internship (2.86±0.52) and the third month internship (2.87±0.54) is lower.The score of apply the theoretical knowledge, self-directed learning behavior, clear the rights and obl-igations of patients, and clinical skills in the third months is higher than the first month of each dimension is divided equally.The clinical practice internship the first month and the second months is difference statistically significant (P<0.05) with the third months.(4) The score of professional is higher who love the nursing profession than the students who don’t love the nursing profession (P <0.05); Positive coping ways is higher who not only child, the first aspiration is the nursing profession,and from the town to than the one-child, a voluntary non-nursing professionals,and students from rural areas (P<0.05); the first choice non-nursing major, negative coping ways of the students from rural areas than non-only child, first choice is the nursing profession, from urban students (P<0.05). Love the nursing profession, the first choice is nursing students in clinical practice behavior scores than do not love the nursing profession, and the first choice of non-nursing professional students (P<0.05).(5) The professional values of undergraduate nursing students and negative coping ways at before practice and the second months in practice was significantly negatively correlated (r=-0.28, P<0.05, γ=-0.29, P<0.01).(6) The clinical practice behavior and professional values present a significant positive correlation (γ=0.35, P<0.01, γ=0.40, P<0.01, γ=0.58, P<0.01); the second months of active coping ways was positively correlation (γ=0.28, P<0.05).(7) Whether or not to love the nursing profession is factor affecting undergraduate nursing students’professional values. The factors affect positive coping ways and negative coping ways is whether or not the only child. The factors that affect the behavior of undergraduate nursing students in clinical practice are professional values, positive coping ways; whether or not the first aspiration is the nursing profession and to love the nursing profession.Conclusion:1. The score of trust is the highest and activism is lowest in the mean of each dimension of professional values.2. Nursing students to postive coping ways higher than the national norm, negative coping ways lower than the domestic norm.3. The factor that affect the professional values of nursing undergraduate students is whether love of the nursing profession, affecting positive and negative coping ways is whether the only child. The factors that affect clinical practice behavior are professional values, postive coping ways, the first aspiration of the enrollment whether the nursing profession, and whether love the nursing profession.4. Undergraduate nursing students in clinical practice behavior and professional values, postive coping ways was positively correlat-ed, and negative coping ways was negatively correlated.
