| Abstract:Objective:To investigate the clinical effectiveness and safety of pregabalinin patients with post-herpetic neuralgia. Methods:Eighty patients with PHN were randomly allocated into treatment group(n=40)and controlled group (n=40).The patients of treatment group were given withpregabalin150mg per day,The patients of controlled group were treated withcarbamazepine orally600mg per day.All the patients were quantified with visualanalogue scale(VAS) for pain severity and Chinese version of Short Form-36for livingquality at the beginning of the study and1weeks,2weeks,3weeks and4weeks aftertreatment.Meanwhile,SF MPQ,the continuous sleeping time and adverse reactions ofdrugs were compared before treatment with after. Results: After4weeks treatment with pregabalin or carbamazepine, the patients oftreatment group were significantly alleviated pain, improved quality of life, and showedlower adverse reactions compared with controlled group(P<0.05).Conclusion:This study showed that pregabalin can significantly alleviate pain andimprove the QOL of the patients with PHN.In addition, the long-term efficacy andsafety of pregabalin in the treatment of PHN requires further study. |
