Objectives: The effects of Xiaoyi prescription on patients with endometriosis whoaccepted in vitro fertilization-embryo transplantation(IVF-ET)were investigated in thisresearch.Methods:60patients with endometriosis undergoing IVF-ET were divided intotraditional Chinese medicine(TCM) group(n=30) and control group(n=30) randomly. TheTCM group were treated with Xiaoyi prescription for two menstrual cycles before Gnwas used, while the control group received on treatment. The patients of final group weretreated with prolonged gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist(GnRH-a) protocol. Theendocrine basis, levels of VEGF、MMP-9in the serum, clinical symptoms and pregnancyrate were compared before and after treatments in both groups. Results: There was nostatistical difference between the two groups before treatment (P>0.05). The levels ofFSH and E2showed significant difference in the TCM group before and after treatment (P<0.05) while LH didn’t(P>0.05). And there was significant difference in the levels ofVEGF、MMP-9in the serum and the clinical symptoms(P<0.05). No statistical differencewas found in the control group(P>0.05). There was statistical difference in clinicalsymptoms, the number of fertilization, high quality embryo number and the pregnancyratein the TCM group compared with the control group after treatment(P<0.05). Conclusions:Traditional Chinese medicine can significantly improve the clinical symptoms andpregnancy rate in patients with EMs undergoing IVF.
